Front-end for web application:

  • -          HTML5 and CSS3: these web mark-up languages will create the foundation for the web application, helping to structure and create layout. The application will use existing frameworks can shape the responsive application whilst giving control at the same time.
  • -          JavaScript: this language will allow me to add dynamic behaviour to my web application by storing information, handling requests and responses. We can use JavaScript to create any calculations and arithmetic operations if needed.

Back-end languages for web application:

  • -          PHP: this will allow us to merge the front end UI with backend database which will support a Linux based server (cPanel)
  • -          SQL: we will use SQL queries combined with PHP to perform CRUD operations (e.g. retrieve user data from database)

The project will require plenty of CSS3 and JavaScript libraries to create the web application such as:

  • -          Sass: this is a rich compatible library for light-weight grid web layout
  • -          Bulma: this is a CSS framework for dynamic application (using flexbox)
  • -          Salvatore: this is a grid effect library which will make it easier to create beautiful boxes/grid like effects to present the tasks/lists
  • -          jQuery: library will allow me to create a complex app with minimal code. It has many plug in such as Tooltipster for creating animation boxes
  • -          SweetAlert: this library allows us to create little pop up modal boxes which can be used to notify users about new tasks/meetings or when they make updates
  • -          Fusioncharts: this library gives access to extensive data-driven interactive charts which can be customised for the overview progress page for volunteers.
  • -          Node JS: this is the backend Javascript framework (currently there are many frameworks such as Express which are flexible web frameworks that provide utilities and middleware to create a robust API).

Costs

Several time patient visit healthcare centres with a clinically undefinable condition that cost a lot of money as well as time of healthcare organisation. Most of NHS attempt to keep such patients away from hospital by organising home visits and provide other supports like talk therapy and communitybased services. A report from NHS shows that it costs three times more to treat a 75-year-old and five times more to treat an 80-year-old compared to a 30-year-old. A massive rise in the age factor of elderly people by 2050 when there will be double population of elderly people compared to 2019, is another matter of concern for healthcare organisation. Support talks and community-based services are not enough to stop them visiting hospitals and it will not make any difference to cost and time consumed for treatments. (England, 2019) The figure 1.11 above shows that NHS is struggling to manage costs of elderly people, aged 65 and above. It costs 3 to 5 times more to treat people ages bet...
